About me

Throughout my 35-year career as a Clinical Psychologist, I've primarily worked with clients who have Autism, ADHD, and other Developmental Disabilities. Within this specialised field, I've tailored evidence-based treatments to harmonise with their distinct neurodiversity.

In addition to this specialisation, I'm also dedicated to providing support for people without neurodevelopmental conditions grappling with OCD, PTSD, and prolonged grief.

Furthermore, I'm passionate about employing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to assist individuals with conditions that may involve psychosis in their journey toward improved mental health.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy services are designed to assist individuals in processing and healing from traumatic experiences. I provide these evidence-based treatments for PTSD:

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • Trauma Focussed Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy

Therapy for Conditions Involving Psychosis

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for individuals with conditions involving psychosis helps individuals manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It focuses on reducing distressing symptoms, such as hallucinations and delusions, and improving daily functioning by addressing cognitive distortions and developing coping strategies.

Prolonged Grief Treatment

My practice is strongly based upon Prolonged Grief Treatment (PGT). This offers focused, evidence-based support for those grappling with persistent and challenging grief. PGT follows a short-term, goal-oriented approach, twice as effective as standard depression treatments. It draws from a range of therapeutic techniques, informed by rigorous research, making it the most tested treatment for Prolonged Grief Disorder.

Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a highly effective therapy for OCD. It involves gradually facing your terrifying intrusive thoughts, worries or urges (exposure) without engaging in compulsions (response). By confronting anxiety triggers and resisting the urge to perform rituals, ERP helps you gain control over obsessions and reduce their impact on your life.
